For creators selling courses and communities on a subscription
Recover failed course and community subscription payments
Cohort communities, monthly course access and mastermind tiers on Circle, Outseta, Ghost or a custom Stripe checkout all bill through your Stripe account. Creator Dunning watches for failed renewals and emails members from you until they update their card.
What course and community platforms does today
Community platforms typically show a banner inside the product and leave the rest to Stripe's retries. Members who haven't logged in that week never see it, and higher-priced tiers make each silent lapse expensive.
How Creator Dunning connects
Connect the Stripe account that bills your members. We import current subscriptions, start working on anyone already past due, and keep syncing as Stripe sends events.
Common questions
- My memberships are $50–200 a month. Is this still worth it?
- Especially then. A single recovered renewal at that price covers a year of the service, and higher-priced subscriptions are exactly the ones worth a personal email.
- Does it work with Circle or Outseta?
- If your Circle or Outseta plans are billed through your own Stripe account, yes. Connect that account and the subscriptions appear on your dashboard.
- Will members get a link to update their card?
- Yes. The link goes to Stripe's hosted invoice page for that exact invoice, where they update the card and pay in a few seconds.
Roughly one in ten renewals fails. Most are fixable.
Industry data puts involuntary churn at 20–40% of all subscription churn, and Stripe's default retries recover only 25–35% of failed consumer payments. A timely, personal email closes most of that gap. See the numbers and sources.
