For podcasters with paid memberships
Recover failed podcast membership payments automatically
Private feeds, bonus episodes and ad-free tiers are usually billed through your own Stripe account via Memberful, Supercast, Ghost or a custom checkout. When a member's card fails, Creator Dunning emails them from you with a link to fix it, then follows up until it's paid.
What podcast membership platforms does today
Membership platforms send a generic notice at most and rely on Stripe's retries. Listeners often don't notice their access lapsed until weeks later, and by then the subscription is gone.
How Creator Dunning connects
Connect the Stripe account your membership platform bills through. We only read subscription and invoice events; the private feed, hosting and platform settings stay exactly as they are.
Common questions
- Does it work with Supercast or a custom Stripe checkout?
- If the subscription lives in a Stripe account you control, yes. Platforms that bill through their own Stripe account, like Patreon or Apple Podcasts subscriptions, are not supported.
- Do listeners lose access while their payment is failing?
- That's up to your platform's grace period. We tell you exactly who is past due in the dashboard so you can decide.
- Can I see what was recovered?
- Yes. Every payment that comes in after one of our emails is counted on your dashboard, and you get a short email each time it happens.
Roughly one in ten renewals fails. Most are fixable.
Industry data puts involuntary churn at 20–40% of all subscription churn, and Stripe's default retries recover only 25–35% of failed consumer payments. A timely, personal email closes most of that gap. See the numbers and sources.
